NYC’s busted wireless network expected back online this weekend

New York City’s broken wireless network is undergoing testing and is expected back online within days, the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications said Thursday afternoon. The Wi-Fi network, known as “NYCWiN,” crashed on Saturday following a failure to upgrade its software ahead of a long-expected “rollover event” similar to the Y2K bug.
